«Ivy maraney» is an illustration that visualises a mythical and at the same time desired territory for the future. The original Guaraní communities (from northwest Argentine, Paraguay and south Brazil) believed in the existence of a «land without evil», an «Ivy maraney”. They referred to a land where humans did not get sick, suffer or die.

I also wrote a chapter for the book based on my artistic recherche on southamerican urban extractivism: “A story from bottom up”, pages 57-80.

“Ivy maraney” es una ilustración que visualiza un territorio mítico y a la vez deseado para el futuro. Las comundades originarias guaraníes (habitantes del noroeste de Argentina, paraguay y el sur de Brasil) creían en la existencia de una “tierra sin mal”, un “Ivy maraney. Se referían a una tierra donde los humanos no enfermaban ni sufrían, ni morían.

También escribí un capítulo para el libro, basado en mi investigación artística sobre el extractivismo urbano en Sudamérica: “Una historia de abajo hacia arriba ”, páginas 57 a 80.
