If someone says «cinema» and «fury» in the same sentence, we are likely to imagine an action movie. This book is an action movie full of fury. A road movie driven by an aggressive passion that, as the pages go by, proves to be a delirious and irresistible creative machine.
The simple decision to go on vacation to the beach is transformed from the first minute into an interrogation of the infrastructures, social formations, political strategies and economic models that build this territory we call «beach». The initial provocation is about the railway system, made from the train that the protagonists have just boarded. This will be followed by land policy, social exclusion, and the extermination of the indigenous people.
Thus described, it looks like a manual of great themes of political history. But the originality of this book consists in making these themes vibrate with total immediacy, shaken as they are by the accelerated and nervous experience of the protagonist. The lyrics are key in this construction, but not less so the drawing, instantaneous and precise by a camera -a chronicler drawing, a narrator-, and at the same time to get lost, to remain contemplating things without apparent importance.
All of which makes «the great themes» become, in the reader’s eyes, problems, demands here and now that force here and now to think. And when one is already in the middle of the journey, mobilized by the inquisitive madness of «she», the story ends. So there is no choice but to return to the first page.

Si alguien dice “cine” y “furia“ en una misma frase, es probable que nos imaginemos una película de acción. Este libro es una película de acción llena de furia. Una road movie motorizada por una pasión agresiva que con el correr de las páginas, demuestra ser una máquina creadora delirante e irresistible.
La simple decisión de irs de vacaciones a la playa se transforma desde el primer minuto en una interrogación de las infraestructuras, las formaciones sociales, las estrategias políticas y los modelos económicoa que construyen ese territorio que llamamos “playa”. La provocación incial es en torno al sistema ferroviario, hecha desde el tren al que acaban de subir los protagonistas. A lo que le seguirán la política de tierras, la exclusion social, el exterminio de los indígenas.
Así descripto, parece un manual de grandes temas de historia política. Pero la originalidad de este libro consiste en hacer que esos temas vibren con una inmediatez total, sacudidos como quedan por la experiencia acelerada y nerviosa de la protagonista. La letra es clave en esa construcción, pero no menos el dibujo, instantáneo y preciso por una cámara -un dibujo cronista, relator-, y a la vez a perderse, a quedarse contemplando cosas sin importancia aparente.
Todo lo cual hace que “los grandes temas” se tarnsformen a los ojos del lector en problemas, en demandas aquí y ahora que obligan aquí y ahora a un pensar. Y cuando uno ya está en medio del viaje, movilizado por la locura inquisidora de “ella”, la historia se termina. Por lo que no queda más remedio que volver a la primerra página.
